Physical and chemical characters:

White needle crystals, practically insoluble in water and common organic solvents. It is soluble in warm ethanol and is slightly soluble in hot water and dilute aqueous solutions of acid or alkali and relatively stable in acid or alkali solutions. Its melting point is 230-232.

Function:

6-BA is the first synthetic cytokinin. It can inhibit the degradation of chlorophyll, nucleic acid and protein, promote the delivery of amino acid, inorganic salt and growth regulators to applied positions. It helps plant to keep green and retard aging. It was widely used in agriculture, horticulture etc.

Application:

It is a kind of broad-spectrum, high-efficiency, low-toxicity , low-residual plant growth regulator which can be used almost during the whole life of the plants in seed-dipper, irrigation, bud-sprinkle and leaf-spraying.

It can accelerate cell division, break the dormant obstacle and promote germination, lateral bud emergence, increase the ratio of fruit-setting and improve the fruits shape.
